Sportsman's World facilitiesSituated high on the cliffs overlooking Possum Kingdom Lake, Sportsman's World has a beautiful pavilion for meetings, reunions and parties. Tennis courts, play grounds and a swimming pool adjoin the pavilion property. Equestrian stables are also available to our property owners and their guests.
Sportsman's World Airport A 4200 x 60 foot paved runway is located within the community. The airport is owned and maintained by SWRA and is just minutes from marina facilities on PK Lake, residences or condominiums. Location is 98°27' longitude, 32°50' latitude at an elevation of 1014 feet. Services Community fire protection is provided by the Sportsman's World Volunteer Fire Department and by Possum Kingdom East Volunteer Fire Department. Utilities Sportsman's World Municipal Utility District provides water and sewer services. The District, an independent agency, is authorized to raise capital through municipal bonds and levy taxes on properties within Sportsman's World. Marina Facilities Full marina facilities including gas dock, covered slips, dry boat storage, boat and personal watercraft sales and service are provided by several independent businesses operating in Sportsman's World. Land use in the residential areas is governed by Sportsman's World Covenants and Restrictions. Copies are available from Sportsman's World Recreation Association through this site, or from the Palo Pinto County Courthouse or your Realtor. There are additional restrictions imposed on certain waterfront properties by the Brazos River Authority. Annual Property Owners Assessment Sportsman's World facilities, properties and roads are maintained by an annual assessment on each residential property. The residential property assessment is authorized by the Deed Covenants and Restrictions, and the amount is approved by the Sportsman's World Recreational Association (SWRA) members at the Annual Meeting, held at 10:00 AM on the third Saturday in October. The assessment established for 2008/2009 is $675.00 per residential property. Non-residential ranch properties are subject to an assessment of $1.20 per acre for the purpose of road maintenance in the ranch sections.
