We
have been working on the stables with more clean up slated. The exterior
has been re-skinned and painted. The fence has also been painted. There
are piles on the land from the initial clean up of the property that
will be burned in the future and some more clean up of the grounds will
take place.
Some of you may not know the rules for using the stables, so here they
are:
Also, please note that if you are leaving your horse at the stables and
have to leave it, you will have to find someone to feed and care for
your horse. SWRA has no personnel on staff to care for your animal. The
stables are an asset for all of Sportsman’s World property owners. If
you have a horse and want to bring it out with you for the weekend or
week, this facility is for you.
If you have an interest in boarding your horse, please contact Jimmy Talbert at 940.328.4988.
Airport Policy
Part of the common
property of the Sportsman’s World Association includes a 4,400’
hard-surfaced north-south runway that is depicted on the CG-21
World Aeronautical Chart. Coordinates are Lat 32 49.27 and Lon 98 28.72.
This is a private airstrip with no services. It is for the exclusive
use of Sportsman’s World property owners and their invited guests.
Sportsman’s World assumes no responsibility for accidents or mishaps of
any kind. Utilization of the facility is at the user's
own risk. There is parking space about mid-field on the west side of the
airstrip. Existing hangers and their adjacent ramp area are individually
owned and not for public use.
Road Use Policy
The SWRA Board of Directors maintains the roads within the development. We ask you help in keeping the roads from deterioration by doing the following;
- No vehicle over the weight of 50,000.00 pounds.
- No more than seven (7) yards of cement delivered in each load.
- Delivery trucks are to drive in the middle of the road when possible.
- Speed limit of trucks on all roads in development is 25 MPH.
- Personal vehicles should always be cautious for other drivers, children at play and wildlife.
- Children should not be allowed to drive golf carts, or any ATV without supervision.
- All ATV’s (3 & 4 wheelers, Mules, golf carts, etc.) are to be driven ONLY on the owner’s property. Driving on the paved roads is discouraged unless supervised by an adult and should be done at your own risk. Owner should check with their insurance provider to make sure that the ATV is covered for use off of owner’s property.
Please use common courtesy and common sense when driving. The roads are narrower than the roads you regularly drive. Wildlife is abundant. One of the most common accidents involving deer is that when the driver has a near miss with one, they forget that deer travel in groups and hit a second or third animal. Also, in the Spring, if you see a fawn beside the road, DO NOT STOP AND PET IT. Its mother is nearby. She will abandon it if it gets human scent on it and the fawn will starve.
